Albrighton was mentioned in Domesday as Albricstone and from the 14th century was a thriving market town and has several half-timbered and Georgian facades along the high street. Over the years there have been a variety of trades and industry supporting the local economy grom agriculture to button and clock making and bricks. It lies about 11 miles northeast of Bridgnorth and about eight miles northwest of Wolverhampton. Albrighton has a railway station which is on the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton line.
