Blockley is a large village with a non-proft making shop about three miles northwest of Moreton-in-Marsh just over the main A44 Oxford to Evesham road.
Moreton-in-Marsh is situated at the crossroads of two important routes, north-south (A429 Cirencester to Warwick) and east-west (A44 Oxford to Worcester). The redrawing of the boundaries in 1928 resulted in only three shires meeting at Moreton-in-Marsh. It is doubtful if the area around was ever marshland and it is more likely that ‘Marsh‘ is a corruption of ‘Merche‘ the ancient name for a boundary. The town with its wide elegant tree lined High Street grew primarily when it was an important coaching stage and also the centre of a linen weaving industry that grew up after the decline of the woollen trade.
Orchard Bank is situated off the High Street and consists of seven bungalows and flats renovated in 2007.
