Wembley: Wembley lies about ten miles north-west of London between Northholt to the west and Willesden to the east. The area changed very little in the 19th century but in the first half of the 20th after World War I Wembley Park was chosen for The British Empire Exhibition and subsequently Wembley Stadium became famous for hosting international football.
The Wembley Arena opened in 1934 and is used for general entertainment. Along with the Wembley buildings came significant residential development and the arfea today is laragely a residential suburb of London. There are local underground stations on the Bakerloo, Jubilee and Metropolitan lines.
