Find retirement developments in some of the finest towns and villages in Redditch
Redditch is first mentioned in the 14th century and remained a village for much of the middle ages. It wasn't until the 20th century that the town was designated a 'new town' and the population increased dramatically also becoming a dormitory town for Birmingham. The Kingfisher Shopping Centre is one of the largest in the United Kingdom.
Redditch is about six miles south west of Bromsgrove and the old Icknield Street runs north to south through the eastern side of the town and Junction 3 of the M42 is about five miles to the north. Junction 5 of the M5 is about nine miles and both Alcester and Henley-in-Arden are about six miles. Fast trains from Redditch to Birmingham (New Street) take a little over half an hour.
