Find retirement developments in some of the finest towns and villages in Pocklington
Pocklington is a small market town about 12 miles east of York. It is mentioned in Domesday as Poclinton and had two mills and at the time was the second largest settlement in Yorkshire after York itself. Its name is traced back to the original Anglian settlement in the 7th century. The town developed in the middle ages through its market for wool and its prosperity is testified by some fine carvings in the 15th century church of All Saints.
