Marsden is a large village in the South Pennines about seven miles west of Huddersfield and for many years was a prominent centre in the woollen industry focused on Bank Bottom Mill on the River Colne. The Peak District Boundary Walk runs across the moors and into Marsden and there are also two old packhorse bridges. Marsden railway station is on the Huddersfield Line.
