Arksey is an old village in South Yorkshire with a history dating back to the Domesday Book. It lies about three miles north of Doncaster and it is thought its name derives from to 'island'.  Doncaster is a market town renowned for its racing, rich railway heritage and its wealth of Georgian and Regency architecture on the Great North Road.
