Pelsall was mentioned as Peleshale in Domesday belonging to the Canons of Wolverhampton. The village is about three miles north of Walsall and for much of the middle ages remained a small farming community. Deposits of coal began to be exploited at the end of the 18th century and the village soon expanded with the opening of the canal. There is a good range of shops and the Pelsall Carnival is held on the Common.
Fingerpost Drive is situated to the north of Pelsall and consists of nine retirement properties.
