Knowle is a small town in the West Midlands a few miles east of Solihull and derived its name from 'the hill top or hillock'. In the 13th century it had the status of a Royal Manor and there are many ancient buildings including Grimshaw Hall, a beautiful old timbered house displaying an unusual three-gated porch. The Guild House dates from the 15th century and has a recently restored knot garden to the rear and the current library is in a Tudor building. The town was a staging post on the route to London and today still has a large number of shops mostly in the High Street.
Facilities include non-resident management staff and community alarm service, lift, lounge, laundry, guest facilities and garden.
