Kings Norton stood on 'Kings' land before the conquest and grew up around the village green. It is where the Worcester and Birmingham and the Stratford canals cross. As with many towns near Birmingham Kings Norton expanded considerably in the 19th century and in the 20th was soon absorbed by the city. St Nicolas Church has a fine 15th century tower and crocketed spire. The parish office is inside a fine old Tudor building.
