Eastcote village lies just to the west of the West Midlands Golf Course and about three miles east of Solihull. There are several good walks in the area. Solihull lies about ten miles southeast of Birmingham and is an historic town once part of Warwickshire and on the old coaching route south to Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon. The town grew to prosperity in the middle ages and is known for its many timber framed Tudor style houses. The George dates from the 16th century and on the opposite side of the High Street is The Manor House dating from the end of the 15th century. The town has a good number of parks and open spaces and has a good range of shops.
