Retirement Properties Spotlight in Boldmere

Sutton Coldfield was known as Sutton in Coldfeud in the thirteenth century its name deriving from 'open land where charcoal is produced'. In the 16th century Bishop Vesey had several stone houses built many of which survive today and he was also responsible for founding the local grammar school.

Today the town is really a sought after residential area of Birmingham almost encircling Sutton Park, which with over 2000 acres given by Henry VIII, and with its beautiful tree lined walks and lakeside restaurants, is what remains of an extensive forest. There is also a golf course here.
