Retirement Properties Spotlight in Norton Baddesley

North Baddesley was mentioned in Domesday as Badeslei thought to mean 'Baeddi's Wood' with a church and a wood. It remained a small village until the 20th century when it expanded becoming the size of a small town.  The old village lies to the north with reminders of its past history when it was once owned by the Knights of St John of Jerusalem. Baddesley Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Southampton is about six miles to the south.
