Retirement Properties Spotlight in Mattishall

Mattishall was mentioned in Domesday as Mateshala and lies about four miles east of Dereham and 12 miles west of Norwich. Over the centuries the fortunes of this small town have varied and the fall in the wool trade in the 18th century and the need for fewer farm labourers in the 19th led to significant unemployment. Today there is a sports and social club, and a number of shops including a chemist and surgery.
