Tarporley : Tarporley is a large old village with a busy high street now pypassed by the A49 and A51. Partly Elizabethan Utlinton Hall lies about three miles south. The remains of 13th century Beeston Castle, perched on a rocky sandstone crag above the Cheshire Plain, lie to the southwest of the village and below the Shropshire Union Canal.
