Prestbury : The village of Prestbury has a good selection of shops, a Post Office, Banks, Library and Churches. There are also some excellent restaurants and public houses. The name Prestbury is thought to derive from Anglo-Saxon words, Preosda Byrig, meaning Priest's Manor, and although there are references to the village in the Charter of 899 there is proof of much earlier habitation.
