Worcester Park : Worcester Park lies about three miles north-west of Ewell along the main A240 and less than a mile from the A3. It derives its name from Worcester House which was once the seat of the Earl of Worcester who in 1606 was appointed keeper of Nonsuch Park in Cheam. Henry VIII built Nonsuch Palace in the 16th century but died before its completion. Little remains today.
With the coming of the railways in the mid-nineteenth century the town expanded rapidly and there is now a very busy centre. The railway divides the area with Stoneleigh Park Road to the west of the line and Stoneleigh Avenue to the east.
