Warlingham is a large village with shops on the North Downs and due to its high position affords fine views of Central London on a good day. Its name is thought to derive from 'The Homestead of the followers of Waerla'. The village is surrounded by Green Belt land and part of the adjacent valley has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
