Abbeyfield House has nine en-suite rooms with shared services and home-cooked meals each day.

Facilities include a house manger and emergency alarm service, communal lounge, dining room, conservatory, laundry and garden.

Tywyn is an old town and its name means 'beach' or 'sand-dune'. The existing Church of St Cadfan dates from the 12th century and St Cadfan's Stone has one of the oldest inscriptions in Welsh. The previous church was sacked in the 10th century. The town's sandy beaches led Tywyn to become a popular Victorian resort helped by the coming of the railway and John Corbett in particular who gave funds to develop various amenities and whose generosity is remembered with a commemorative plaque on the north end of the promenade.
