Portman Court consists of 46 assisted living retirement flats with comprehensive facilities.

Facilities : Facilities include an Estates Manager and team of Assistanr Estate Managers who between them provide 24 hour coverage, emergency alarm service, lift, residents' lounge, dining room, restaurant, laundry, guest facilities, garden, hobby room, conservatory and gardens. In addition one hour a week of domestic help is provided for the residents in each apartment (included in the service charge). Additional domestic help can be purchased separately as required.

Uckfield : Uckfield is a small town in East Sussex first mentioned in the late 13th century when it became a staging post on the pilgrimage route between Canterbury, Chichester and Lewes. It lies in the valley of the River Ouse at a crossing point on the River Uck about eight miles northeast of Lewes on the southern edge of the Weald. It is thought the town derives its name either from 'Ucca's open land' of from the Celtic word for 'high place'. The main A26 runs north/south immediately to the west of the town and connects with Tunbridge Wells to the north and Lewes to the southwest. Uckfield Railway Station connects with London (London Bridge) via East Croydon.
