Postern Close : Postern Close consists of 59 flats in a courtyard development and is set off The Keep within walking distance of shops. The development was completed in 1987.

Facilities: These include a resident manager and emergency alarm service, and garden.

Portchester : Portchester was known as Porcestre in Domesday and had three mills. Its name derives from 'Roman fort by the harbour called Port' and today the village behind the castle is lined with attractive 18th century houses. The town itself is further to the north with shops and the A27 takes you in a short distance to Fareham.

Portchester lies on the north side of Portsmouth Harbour and as its name implies once formed part of the Roman's Saxon Shore. The walls that enclose Henry II's castle are Roman, built in the third century and are 20 feet high. It was from here that Henry V assembled his army before setting sail for France and Agincourt. Within the castle enclosure is St Mary's, originally part of a priory and now the parish church.

Tenure: Leasehold
