Development

Bramley Grange is situated close to shops off the Horsham Road and consists of 20 apartments in landscaped gardens and grounds built by Beechcroft in 2001.

Further Information

The major part of the Bramley Grange Hotel burnt down in 1996 leaving just 16 apartments in over five acres of beautiful gardens. Today a new distinguished building has been built on this prominent corner site at the junction of the High Street and Station Road. It is just a short walk to the village centre. Some of the top floor apartments have glorious views over the surrounding landscaped gardens and woodland.

Situation

Bramley Grange in Surrey is an exclusive development of 20 luxury retirement apartments and cottages with secure underground parking and a swimming pavilion. Externally, the development has been designed to complement older properties in the Bramley Village Conservation area. Internally, however, the 16 apartments and 4 cottages provide generous, flexible living space. Bramley borders an area of outstanding natural beauty and is itself a most attractive village with a good number of shops, library and post office. There are churches of most denominations.

Town

Bramley was known as Bronlei in Domesday and had three churches and five mills and belonged to Odo, Bishop of Bayeux, and one of the largest landholders in the county. Originally a Saxon settlement its name is likely to derive from 'clearing in a broom'. It lies in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and for most of the Middle Ages was an agricultural community. Getrude Jekyll once lived in the village and today it has several shops including a chemist, grocers and post office, two inns and a restaurant.

Facilities include a visiting manager and emergency alarm service, swimming pavilion, underground garaging and attractive gardens and grounds.

Communications

Bramley village is situated approximately three miles south of Guildford along the A281 and five miles north of Cranleigh. Shalford Station is less than two miles away and fast trains to London (Waterloo) take approximately forty-five minutes from here. The A3 at Guildford provides easy access to London and the M25.
