Old Town Farm in Great Missenden is naturally secluded from the High Street by a high brick and flint wall. At the entrance to the original farm site is the early 19th-century Grade II listed farmhouse now converted to retirement apartments. Much of the character of the old farmyard has been preserved with the flint barns converted to cottages, cowsheds to garages and the large 18th-century timber framed barn into a delightful swimming pavilion.

The garden is approached through a timber pergola and surrounded by grass banks, sown with extensive drifts of Spring bulb planting. Today the colourful High Street offers all the amenities of a thriving village - restaurants and pubs, bookshops and newsagents, antique shops, food shops, banks and a post office, solicitors and estate agents. Only a mile or two away, the Chiltern Hospital offers a high standard of medical care.

Communications are excellent. There is a regular train service from Great Missenden to London (Marylebone) which takes about 45 minutes. The town is just a few miles fromboth the M25 and M40 motorways, and the A413 by-pass to the east of the village connects it with Aylesbury and Amersham. London is just 28 miles away (no longer the 31 miles shown on the milestone at the entrance to Old Town Farm!).
