Description:

Three bedroom cottage end of terrace cottage. The property has well designed, spacious accommodation. On the ground floor is an entrance hall with under stairs storage and a cloakroom. To the left of the entrance hall is a large sitting room which has a side aspect window, a front aspect bay window and a feature fireplace. Double doors lead from the sitting room to the dining room and there is direct access from the dining room to the conservatory and, from there, to the rear, south-facing, patio garden. The fitted kitchen leads off the dining room and has a range of floor and wall units with a built-in oven and hob and space/plumbing for a washing machine and dishwasher. To the right of the entrance hall you will find one of the three double bedrooms which has fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room. On the first floor are the two other double bedrooms and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and large eaves storage cupboards. The property has electric storage heating and double glazing throughout.

Situation:

Berehurst is situated about a third of a mile from the centre of Alton with its excellent shopping facilities. The development overlooks the Watercress steam railway line and there are some fine views over the town and the surrounding countryside. The two courtyards are landscaped with lawns, herbaceous borders and ornamental trees, with the grounds beyond left largely informally landscaped with trees and longer grass.

Further information:

The cottages have private terraces and several have larger gardens which can be looked after by the gardener or by the owners themselves. All cottages and bungalows have conservatories, with some variations in architectural style. The apartments have a security entry phone system, carpeted lobby area and similar accommodation and fittings to the cottages.

There are twenty seven two and three-bedroom cottages and some apartments and bungalows all set in a little over four acres of grounds. There is an all-weather tennis court and a swimming pool, with changing rooms, which can be used throughout the year. Saxon Wessex was predominantly farming country as it is today and the area is famed for its rolling countryside. Local places of interest include the Devil‘s Punch Bowl and there are excellent walks at Frensham Ponds. The South Downs and Salisbury Plain are within easy reach. Racing is at Ascot, Newbury and Goodwood and there is fishing on the rivers Alre, Test and Itchen. Hunting is with the Hampshire Hunt with kennels at Ropley. Theatres within easy reach are the Redgrave at Farnham, the Theatre Royal at Winchester and the Chichester Festival Theatre. At nearby Lasham there is an International Gliding Centre, and the Alton Golf Club is only two miles away.

Communications:

The A31 crosses Hampshire from Winchester in the south west - 20 miles, to Farnham in the north east - 10 miles, and bypasses Alton immediately to the south. The M3 is some 12 miles to the north (junctions 5 or 6) and the south coast is approximately 30 miles. The town has a mainline railway station and Waterloo can be reached in 62 minutes
