Homehaven Court is situated close to the Old Shoreham Road and the River Adur and within walking distance of the railway station.

The new town was laid out in a grid pattern in the early 11th century. It became a busy port in the later Middle Ages and the rise of Brighton and the arrival of the railways ensured its position as a Victorian seaport. The harbour remains a commercial operation today. Shoreham has the largest Farmers Market in Sussex and its own airfield serving as Brighton's municipal airport. It is also reputed to have one of the oldest secular buildngs in Europe still in use. The Marilipins Museum is housed in an early 12th century building in the High Street.

Shoreham-by-Sea is about four miles east of Worthing and about six miles east of Brighton. Storrington is about ten miles and Steyning five miles. Old Shoreham station is close to the centre of the town.
