Town Mill is located on the site of an old mill on an island in the River Kennet adjoining protected water-meadows. The 31 two-bedroom cottages are situated around the island's perimeter and it is just a short walk to one of the finest high streets in England. In the Mill House is the residents drawing room with kitchenette, Estate Manager's office, two guest suites, laundry and hairdressing salon. There is car parking to each cottage.

The historic market town of Marlborough is known for its broad High Street of timber framed buildings and The Green with its period town houses built on the site of the original Saxon village. It is a place of enormous provincial charm and outstanding modern convenience. Located in the shallow valley of the River Kennet its buildings testify to the town.s prosperity enjoyed over the centuries with architectural styles that span more than 300 years. The town has its own golf and leisure centre, complete with swimming pool. Concerts, plays and exhibitions of work by local artists and craftsmen can be seen at St Peter's church and a lively calendar of annual events include the famous Marlborough International Jazz Festival, which is held in July. For a wider choice in sophisticated shops and department stores, the historic cities of Salisbury and Bath are both convenient by car. Marlborough is situated in beautiful yet diverse Wiltshire countryside from natural deciduous woodland in the ancient Savernake Forest to open undulating Downland to the north and west. Much of the area is protected as being of outstanding historical or natural interest including the famous neolithic Stone Circle at Avebury, Silbury Hill, the Long Barrow at West Kennet, Littlecote House and the Kennet and Avon Rivers.

Once an important staging post on the Great West Road from London to Bath, today Marlborough is within easy reach of Intercity services at Swindon (nine miles away) that take less than an hour to reach London (Paddington). The M4 (Junction 15) is eight miles north of the town. Hungerford is ten miles and Pewsey seven miles. Devizes is about 14 miles.
