There is an health centre in Grove Road and there are several places of worship nearby including the Anglican Church which is just across the road from Lake House and the Roman Catholic Church just a little further afield. A local bus service runs past Lake House into the City Centre.
Southampton is famous for its parks and gardens: Hoglands Park, close to the shopping centre has three cricket pitches, and from the bottom of Western Esplanade in Mayflower Park you can see the ships in Southampton Water, home of the Atlantic liners. Nearby are several places of interest including the Bird Gardens at Ower, Netley Abbey, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, and of course the New Forest. Good sporting facilities are avialable in the area with cricket, bowls, golf, and fishing.There are superb yachting facilities at Hamble, Hythe and Lymington.
