The Paddocks is an attractive development of two bedroom bungalows within the mature grounds of the Gittisham Hill House Care Home and set in approximately ten acres about two miles south of Honiton. The first phase of ten bungalows was completed in 2000 and 12 new bungalows have now been built to the south of the original development. The facilities of the care home are available to the owners in the neighbouring Paddocks development.

In Domesday Honiton is described as having a mill with a hundred sheep. Once famous for its lace today it is a thriving mainly Georgian town and remains an important centre on the A30 east of Exeter. The surrounding countryside is some of the finest in East Devon and there are many excellent walks and several places of interest nearby including Hembury Fort. The Allhallows Museum still displays lace for which the town was famous.

Honiton is about eighteen miles east of Exeter on the A30 and about nineteen miles west of Ilminster. Sidmouth and the south coast is about 11 miles and Axminster 11 miles. The M5 at junction 28 is 11 miles and Ottery st Mary about five miles. Fast trains to London (Waterloo) take just over three hours.
