Newman Court is situated off Tweedy Road just to the north of Bromley town centre and within walking distance of shops. It consists of 39 flats and was completed in 2000.

There is a reference to 'Bromleag' in the eighth century with the name probably referring to a 'woodland clearing where the broom grows'. Bromley is also mentioned in Domesday as Bronlei when it belonged to the Bishop of Rochester and the Bishops were Lords of the Manor here until 1845. Today the town has a good range of shops and there are many parks and gardens and open countryside to the south and east.

Bromley is about four miles from the A20 at Sidcup and about nine miles from J3 of the M25. Croydon is about seven miles and Lewisham five miles. The M4 at J6 is about 13 miles. Fast trains to London (Charing Cross) take a little over 30 minutes.
