Hastings lies on the Sussex coast about 24 miles south-east of Tunbridge Wells and about 14 miles east of Eastbourne. Bexhill-on-Sea is about four miles to the west and Rye about ten miles to the northeast. Fast trains to London (Charing Cross) take a little over an hour and a half.
