The development is situated off the Chelmsford Road in Shenfield to the north-east of Brentwood. 

Shenfield is close to the centre of Brentwood and has its own shopping facilities and nearby there are several fine restaurants, five golf courses and two parks at South Weald and Thorndon. Shenfield Railway Station is nearby with fast and frequent services to London (Liverpool Street) as well as to the East Coast resorts and East Anglian towns.

Brentwood itself lies just outside the M25 at Junction 28 about six miles north-east of Romford and about 20 miles from London on the old Roman road to Colchester. It is thought the Saxons were the earliest settlers and its name probably derives from 'place where the wood was burned'. The town developed in the middle ages and was a popular resting point for pilgrims on their way to Canterbury and Pilgrims Hatch is to the northwest of the town. Although very much a commuter town for London, Brentwood is still surrounded by open countryside and has two large sports centres. Ingatestone Hall is a Tudor house open to the public.

Brentwood is about six miles northeast of Romford and about two miles northeast of Junction 28 the M25. Central London is 20 miles and Chelmsford 11 miles. Fast trains to London (Liverpool Street) take about 35 minutes.
