Linskill Park is situated off Linskill Terrace within walking distance of shops in North Shields. The development consists of 67 bungalows and flats with extra care facilities completed in 2010.

The parish church of North Shields was originally surrounded by open countryside but this soon became enveloped by housing as the town grew. The shipyards producing the 'Northumbrian Coble' and larger 'collier briggs' for transporting coal to London eventually declined. Following the demise of fishing, coal-mining and shipbuilding new industries moved into the area and the town is now well known for its call centres and light industry.

North Shields is about three miles southwest of Tynemouth and about nine miles northeast of Newcastle. The A194(M) is about five miles and fast trains to London (Kings Cross) take just over three hours.
