Whiteley Village is an early example of seamless care for the elderly consisting of independent living cottages, residential care and nursing care all situated in beautiful surroundings with many facilities. The woodland surrounding the residential area of the village, which is all owned by The Whiteley Homes Trust, offers a variety of secluded and interesting walks with an abundance of wildlife. The focal point of the village is the village store and post office. Hairdressers, laundrette and library are all situated nearby.

Activities and Clubs use the extensive grounds for golf, putting and bowls. The village hall is the venue for indoor pursuits such as dancing, keep fit, yoga, amateur dramatics and concerts.
