Nearby is Compton Acres, www.comptonacres.co.uk, with seven gardens the most famous of which is the Japanese garden. From the Quayside you can visit Brownsea Island which belongs to the National Trust. It is over five hundred acres with thousands of wading birds and other wildlife.
