The Bedford Museum and Cecil Higgins Art Gallery are among many places of interest. John Bunyon, the author of Pilgrims' Progress was a resident of Bedford and there is a Bunyon Centre which apart from its sporting facilities has a small theatre and music rooms. Bedford has an excellent library and churches of most denominations.
