Myddleton Court was completed in 2006 and consists of retirement apartments set off the Upper Rainham Road close to the centre of Romford.

The River Rom rises to the north of Romford and has been designated a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. The river now flows through the town underground in a man made channel. Romford itself is located on a crossing of the river which then continues under the name of the River Beam before reaching the Thames.

Romford is about 13 miles east of Central London and about five miles northeast of Barking. Rainham to the south is about four miles and Brentwood seven miles. The M25 at Junction 29 is four miles and fast trains to London (Liverpool Street) take less than 20 minutes.
