Puddletown Forest has a mile long avenue of Rhododendrons and nearby is Athelhampton Hall, a magnificent 15th century house. Elizabethan Waterston Manor is on the other side of the village.

Puddletown is on the A35 Dorchester to Bournemouth road at its junction with the A354 from Blandford Forum and Salisbury. Dorchester is five miles away from where there is a frequent train service to London via Poole, Bournemouth and Southampton taking about two and a half hours.
